Essential Job Functions
- Supports the School's mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Helps build enthusiasm among students in the area of coding, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality
- Implements weekly lessons for Computer Science
- Creates lessons that help students to learn logical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, design, and structured problem solving
- Provides opportunities for students to implement, test, and deploy a solution considering real-world constraints
- Collaborates with colleagues to integrate computer science and technology skills into the core curriculum
- Provides professional development for educational technology integration and computer science
- Assists with Lower School television production PCAM/PCNN-AM
- Partners with others to coach Middle School VEX robotics team and/or exploratory robotics program
- Engages students in using robots such as: Ozobots, KIBO, Robot Mouse, Bee Bots, Dash & Dot, etc.
- Engages students in using maker toys examples include: microcontrollers (BBC micro:bit), robots, virtual reality and augmented reality, artificial intelligence
- Seeks out and explores new technologies to improve the program
- Uses programs such as Google Apps, Google Sites, Design Thinking, etc. with students
- Presents sessions at the School's annual Innovation Institute and Teachers Teaching Teachers on technology integration
- Manages and serve as point-person for software accounts as designated and facilitate Classlink integrations
- Manages iPads using the JAMF system
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee
