The Senior Vice President, Surgical Services will serve as a member of the senior executive team and be accountable for the overall strategic positioning and success for the seamless surgical services delivery across the continuum of TGH. The SVP will have responsibility for the direct oversight of perioperative/surgical services, currently comprised of 52 operating rooms and outpatient sites, including the further development, integration, and optimization of TGH's surgical delivery system. They will have responsibility for increasing patient satisfaction, throughput, quality care delivery, standardization, and financial performance. They will develop and align the surgical services strategy with TGH's overarching organizational strategy to ensure they reflect TGH's mission and a deep commitment to outstanding patient-centric care. Directly responsible for assigned areas in ancillary, support and strategic service lines to achieve specific goals/metrics as to the operational and strategic plan. Has the authority and responsibility for meeting the bottom lines of quality and financial performance. They will focus on implementing a cohesive, structured system across the enterprise, recruiting key staff as needed and charting a course for vigorous improvement and growth in all areas, while balancing consistent clinical delivery, driving quality initiatives, and developing service standards. They will work in a dyad relationship with the TGH Surgeon in Chief. Must develop and maintain collaborative physician relations that build on their key roles as both partners and customers.
1. Participates in decision-making processes by collaborating with leaders from the governing body, hospital leadership, medical staff and clinical areas in developing the hospital's strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operation plans and policies.
2. Sets strategic direction for surgical services areas, including planning and managing processes and services for these disciplines to meet current and future needs. Develops and integrates these plans and processes to support the organizational objectives.
3. Mentors and Develops managers and staff to assume leadership roles both formally and informally, via role modeling and facilitating staff participation in a shared leadership structure. Directs the development, implementation and administration of a shared decision-making model.
4. Plans, promotes, and conducts quality monitoring and enhancement activities; actively involved in advancing clinical outcomes and quality improvements. Collaboratively creates effective and ongoing programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of care and services.
5. Advocates for staff in the assigned areas regarding the allocation of resources including FTE, systems, equipment and support. Provides for the development and management of operating and capital budgets for assigned areas; Responsible for overall performance according to budget.
6. Provides for the establishment and implementation of patient care standards including policies and procedures that meet national, state and local rules and regulations as well as voluntary accreditation stands.
8. Demonstrates and creates expectation of consistency in application of policies and procedures across departments.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Masters degree in Nursing required; 5-10 years of relevant management experience in overseeing perioperative and/or surgical services.
- Demonstrates a career progression appropriate to undertake a position of this scope, complexity and scale.
