Head Basketball Cheer Coach:

Position Overview:
The JV Head Basketball Cheer Coach is responsible for leading the basketball cheerleading team, focusing on skill development, team building, and preparing for performances. This role involves planning practices, teaching routines, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and conduct practices: Develop practice schedules and activities to enhance cheer skills and team coordination.
• Teach and choreograph routines: Create and instruct cheer routines, including stunts, chants, and dances.
• Promote safety: Ensure all activities follow safety standards and guidelines.
• Mentor and support athletes: Foster a positive team environment and support individual development.
• Coordinate events: Organize and oversee team participation in games and school events.
• Communication: Communicates to parents and other stakeholders
• Reports to Program Director
Qualifications:
• Experience in cheerleading or coaching.
• Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage a team.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

SEASONAL ONLY POSITION

In order to be considered for this position, applicant must currently possess a valid athletic coaching certificate, or a valid teaching certificate issued by the Florida Department of Education.
