The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven leader to serve as the Senior Executive Director for the Bob Sierra YMCA and Camp Sierra-one of the most prominent and high-impact dual-facility operations in the Association.
This unique leadership opportunity oversees two thriving locations located less than half a mile apart:
Together, these facilities represent a combined operation exceeding $5.5 million in annual revenue, with significant opportunity for continued growth and expanded community impact.
The Opportunity
The Senior Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of this complex, high-performing operation. This includes oversight of membership growth, program innovation, staff development, fiscal management, community engagement, and philanthropic advancement.
This role is supported by a highly talented and experienced leadership team, including senior program leaders and directors across aquatics, wellness, sports, membership, and youth development as well as a tenured Associate Executive Director.
In addition to center operations, this position will also play a key role at the Association level by providing strategic oversight of wellness programming and equipment initiatives across 14 locations, influencing approximately $2 million in wellness and personal training revenue. This dual scope offers a unique opportunity to lead both locally and across the broader organization.

- Camp Sierra - A 15-acre program campus including multiple outdoor pools, a 18,000-square-foot state-of-the-art gymnastics center, lighted athletic fields, 30,000sf indoor gymnasium and program facilities that support a 400-participant summer day camp, after-school programming, licensed preschool, robust aquatic operation supporting competitive, development, and masters swim teams as well as lesson instruction and one of the largest sports programs in the Association.

Requirements
Education/ Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in business operations, growth, community engagement, staff leadership, and program development preferred.
- Experience managing facilities and/or program areas preferred including licensed pre-school, aquatic, youth development and adult programming
- Experience in fitness equipment selection, acquisition, and maintenance as well as wellness program to include personal training, group exercise, fee based wellness programming. Current or former certifications in group exercise / personal training preferred or degree/course work in exercise science and/or kinesiology or equivalent.
- Experience leading operations of similar size and scope (e.g., $3M+ revenue and 2,500+ memberships) preferred; YMCA experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in fiscal management and financial development, including annual campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
- Experience engaging in community events and outreach efforts.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed goals while building and retaining strong relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and influence outcomes.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and accountable for results.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing environments.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to leverage data for decision-making.

Certifications/Trainings Required:
- Must obtain within 30 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR Pro, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
- Maintain other required certifications as stated per Associatoin guidelines or directed by supervisor.
