Math Teachers in Leon County Schools are responsible for delivering engaging mathematics instruction to students in grades 6-8.
Core instructional, assessment, and administrative duties include:
-Instruction & Planning: Design and implement rigorous lesson plans that align with Florida state standards. Adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and ESE students.
-Assessment & Evaluation: Evaluate student progress through continuous monitoring, grading assignments, and conducting regular quizzes and tests to provide constructive feedback.
-Student Management & Compliance: Maintain a structured, safe classroom environment and enforce district policies, including keeping middle school cell phones powered off and out of sight.
-Communication & Collaboration: Actively collaborate with fellow teachers, attend professional development, and hold conferences with parents to discuss student performance.
