-Instruction & Curriculum
Plan lessons: Design daily lessons aligned to summer school goals (remediation, acceleration, or enrichment)
Deliver instruction: Teach literacy, math, science, and social studies using evidence-based strategies
Differentiate instruction: Provide targeted support for struggling learners and extension activities for advanced students
Use data: Review student assessments and adjust instruction based on progress and needs
Implement interventions: Deliver small-group or one-on-one instruction in priority skill areas
-Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Assessments: Give pre- and post-assessments to measure student growth
Monitor progress and document data: Track student performance weekly, adjust instruction accordingly
Communicate progress: Provide regular updates to parents on student achievement
-Classroom Management & Organization
Manage behavior: Use positive reinforcement, consequences, and restorative practices to support student conduct
-Collaboration & Communication
Work with paraprofessionals: Direct and supervise support staff; provide feedback on performance
Coordinate with colleagues and specialists: Communicate with other summer school teachers about curriculum, pacing, and student needs, Communicate with special education staff, ELL teachers, or counselors as needed.
Parent communication: Update parents on student progress, attendance, and summer school expectations
-Encourage engagement: Use interactive activities, games, and hands-on learning to maintain student motivation
Address needs: Identify and support students with social-emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges
-Special Education & Accommodations
Implement IEPs/504 plans: Follow individualized accommodations and modifications
Adapt materials: Modify lessons and assessments to meet diverse learner needs

Reporting: Complete end-of-program evaluations and student summer school reports
Supervise students: Monitor students during transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal.
