BayCare is currently in search of our newest Acute Care Speech Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Acute Speech Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
  • Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Location: St Josephs Main Hospital - Tampa, FL

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 4 10-hour shifts/Days

Weekend Work: Every Other

On Call: Yes
