With over 90 faculty and 40 support staff, the College offers a range of degrees in music, baccalaureate through the doctorate. Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate- and graduate-level trumpet, coordinate with large ensemble conductors and other cohorts, and supervise graduate teaching assistants.
- Recruit and maintain a successful teaching studio.
- Serve on doctoral and master's committees and juries.
- Maintain a professional career as a performing artist.
- Participate in university and professional service activities nationally and internationally as appropriate.
- Additional responsibilities may include teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Have completed a doctoral degree at the time of appointment or demonstrate a record of equivalent performance and teaching experience.
- Hold a record of successful university-level teaching experience and proven artistry as a professional performer of solo, chamber music, and orchestral music.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to the recruitment of outstanding students.
- Demonstrate a proven commitment to creating an environment which contributes to the vibrancy, and economy of the university community and engages students and citizens from different backgrounds and walks of life.
