Job Description:

The Demand Analyst serves as a liaison between business offices and Information Technology to intake ideas, refine and document technology proposals in ServiceNow, and support governance activities throughout the proposal lifecycle. This role participates in the analysis of business and technology proposals from ideation through project approval.

The candidate must have experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders through collaboration and teamwork. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders to translate strategic and operational needs into actionable requirements, conducting business needs assessments, and assisting in the development of solution approaches that align with organizational objectives.

The analyst will assess feasibility, conduct impact analyses, and help prioritize proposals based on business value, strategic alignment, and resource considerations. Additional responsibilities include gathering high-level requirements, obtaining project cost estimates, developing business cases, and documenting findings according to organizational methodologies and standards.

The role focuses on documenting business case elements such as return on investment (ROI), cost savings, risks, scope, and impacted applications. The analyst will also prepare presentations and documentation to support funding decisions, develop specifications, and ensure a shared understanding among technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

The position works closely with the Demand/Proposal Manager, who oversees the proposal lifecycle and governance process.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field required.

Equivalent work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

Preferred certifications (not required): CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 3 years of experience in business process analysis and requirements documentation, including independent facilitation with executives and subject matter experts.

Proficiency in process mapping and modeling using tools such as Microsoft Visio.

Experience facilitating idea intake and converting ideas into documented demands/proposals within ServiceNow or a similar portfolio management tool.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Experience preparing business case documentation, including ROI/TCO analysis, cost-benefit assessments, and risk summaries.

Experience using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for collaboration and document management.

Exposure to Microsoft Power BI preferred.

Strong understanding of how business requirements translate into technical requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Categorize and prioritize technology proposals based on urgency, complexity, business impact, strategic alignment, and established scoring criteria.

Analyze proposal trends, recurring requests, and feasibility against technical capabilities and constraints.

Coordinate stakeholder identification and conduct intake meetings with business units.

Refine submitted ideas and document objectives, business needs, scope, assumptions, constraints, and risks.

Research and document business processes, system dependencies, and process interrelationships.

Complete proposal details within ServiceNow, including business units, collaborators, impacted applications, and impact assessments.

Analyze technical challenges and recommend solution approaches that align with current and future business environments.

Stay informed on emerging technologies and identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions.

Evaluate and recommend buy-versus-build strategies when appropriate.

Document current-state and future-state processes, perform gap analysis, and develop transition plans.

Develop and maintain business case documentation, ROI/TCO analyses, cost-savings estimates, and proposal records.
