Behavior Specialist works collaboratively with the student's educational team and parents to develop and implement intervention strategies for the classroom and within the school environment that allows the student to integrate behavior into the school setting successfully.
One of the core duties is building relationships with students.
-Monitor student behavior using positive behavior supports, record, and maintain data regarding behavior.
-Maintain a student-centered learning environment that is safe, organized, equitable, flexible, and collaborative and accommodates the differing needs of students.
-Foster a culture of high expectations for all students by promoting the importance of education and each student's capacity for academic and behavior achievements.
-Maintain open lines of communication with teachers, administration, and district personnel.
