As the Community-Based Education (CBE) Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting individuals as they build independence, confidence, and real-world skills through meaningful community and workplace experiences. This position works closely with instructors, social services, families, and community partners to ensure community-based experiences are safe, enriching, and aligned with each individual's goals.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, and committed to person-centered support-and who values collaboration, reliability, and inclusive community participation.

Desired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate group activities and outings
  • Comfortable leading educational and skill-building activities in community settings
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use program-related software
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Consistently reliable, punctual, and dependable

Licensing, Certifications & Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver's License (required)
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Ability to safely operate agency vehicles, including passenger vans

Classroom & Program Support
  • Learn and follow instructor-established routines to support a structured, inclusive learning environment
  • Reinforce classroom and program expectations with consistency and respect
  • Ensure the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals served at all times
  • Assist with attendance procedures and follow emergency protocols as required
  • Provide flexible support in group and one-on-one settings
  • Encourage participation, engagement, and skill development through positive reinforcement
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, breaks, therapy sessions, and activities
  • Support special events and program activities (e.g., Fashion Show, Therap activities)

Individual Support & Social Services Collaboration
  • Participate in Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Support Plan meetings
  • Provide timely, respectful feedback on individuals' progress and engagement
  • Communicate behavioral, health, or safety concerns to social services staff promptly

Community-Based Education (CBE) & Trips
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee Community-Based Education (CBE) experiences
  • Develop and maintain monthly CBE calendars and schedules
  • Supervise individuals during community outings, ensuring safety, inclusion, and meaningful engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of CBE trips, including attendance and activities

Transportation & Vehicle Responsibilities
  • Safely transport individuals to and from community and program locations
  • Maintain mileage logs and transportation documentation
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs with the operations team

Meal Preparation & Supply Support
  • Order lunch supplies as needed
  • Assist with preparing and packing lunches for individuals
