Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, common areas, and other assigned areas of the school.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and otherwise maintain various types of flooring.
Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and other surfaces.
Clean and sanitize student and staff restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, floors, mirrors, and other fixtures.
Empty and properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials from assigned areas.
Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles, handrails, light switches, desks, and other frequently used areas.
Maintain adequate supplies of restroom products, paper products, soap, and other assigned custodial supplies.
Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of cafeterias, food service areas, gymnasiums, locker rooms, and athletic facilities as assigned.
Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance duties and report maintenance, safety, or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
Operate custodial equipment, including vacuums, floor machines, buffers, extractors, and other equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
Properly mix, use, label, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and supplies according to manufacturer instructions and school safety requirements.
Maintain custodial closets, storage areas, and equipment in an orderly, clean, and safe condition.
Assist with preparing classrooms and facilities for school activities, meetings, testing, athletic events, assemblies, and special events.
Set up and break down tables, chairs, equipment, and other furnishings as requested.
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, boxes, and other materials as directed.
Maintain assigned outdoor areas, including sidewalks, entrances, courtyards, and other areas around the school as assigned.
Help monitor the condition of the school facility and promptly report hazardous conditions, spills, leaks, broken equipment, vandalism, or other concerns.
Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and other situations requiring immediate cleaning or attention.
Follow all school district policies and procedures regarding safety, security, confidentiality, and proper use of school property.
Maintain appropriate professional conduct when interacting with students, staff, parents, visitors, and community members.
Secure assigned areas and assist with opening or closing the facility according to the assigned work schedule and school procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal, supervisor, or designated administrator.
