Office of Admissions
Responsibilities
The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management's integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience - from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.
Responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and assessment of the talent training for individuals giving tours of campus. Directs the strategic planning, administration, assessment, and implementation of talent training initiatives as well as presentation activities for the Office of Admissions.
Responsible for the strategic planning, administration, assessment, and implementation of campus talent training initiatives as well as presentation activities for the Office of Admissions. Develops talent training and presentation programming and content in collaboration with senior leadership. Oversees the training of professional, support, and student staff assigned to the Welcome Center and from the greater University Community that provides departmental tours of campus. Leads efforts to develop and implement a comprehensive plan that integrates interpretive goals across the visitor experience at the university - working alongside internal and external stakeholders to identify and provide solutions to gaps in the visitor experience.
Oversees the planning and execution of the University Ambassador Program. Responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and assessment of content presented in the campus visit experience. Assists in the planning and coordinating of on-campus events within the Office of Admissions. Assists with developing and implementing emergency response plans for visitors to campus in coordination with key departments on campus. Builds relationships with campus partners to assist with prospective student visits and event programming.
Frequently conducting information sessions, reviewing, and evaluating applications for admission, making recommendations on student selection. Counsels prospective students and their family members about the educational and financial aid opportunities at the University. Frequent contact with prospective students, applicants and their family members, the general public, officials, and personnel associated with colleges/community colleges/universities, and high school counselors. Due to travel needs, position requires operation of a motor vehicle. Ensures consistent delivery of concierge level visitor service to special populations, including responding to visitor concerns in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Collects statistical data to assess the instructional effectiveness of talent training and presentation programming for continuous improvement efforts that lead to enhanced visitor experience. Participates in strategic planning, staffing decisions, and program development for the Office of Admissions to ensure program goals, objectives, and activities meet academic support and University standards. Develops and maintains partnerships with various stakeholders across Enrollment Management and the University to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and ten years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
Must have a valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and complimentary experience is preferred.
- We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented and who work well independently as well as in a team.
- Experience working with public speaking, various populations, reviewing transcripts, and interpreting and applying admissions tests is preferred.
- Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments.
- Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Candidates with a strong sense of initiative and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently are preferred.
- The ability to make sound judgments while working in a deadline-driven environment is essential.
- Qualified candidates will possess the ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience creating and delivering presentations to small and large unique groups.
- Applicants must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.
