FSU Libraries is seeking an early-career librarian who is excited to grow as an educator, research partner, and member of a collaborative academic library.
As the library liaison to the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences and other social science departments, you will work directly with students and faculty to support teaching, learning, and research. You will provide library instruction, help students develop research and information literacy skills, connect faculty and students with resources and services, and help build collections that support their academic and research needs.
You will also have opportunities to explore how emerging technologies, including AI, are changing teaching, research, and librarianship. We are looking for someone who is curious about these developments and excited to learn, experiment, and contribute as FSU Libraries continues to expand its work in this area.
This position is designed to provide opportunities to learn and grow. You do not need to arrive knowing every aspect of academic librarianship. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation, an eagerness and ability to learn, an interest in teaching and research support, and enthusiasm for developing their skills alongside experienced colleagues.

Starting at $60,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a library liaison to the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences and assigned social science departments, building relationships with faculty, students, and staff.
- Design and deliver engaging library instruction, workshops, research guides, and other learning opportunities in both online and in-person environments.
- Help students and faculty navigate the research process through consultations and referrals to relevant library resources, services, and expertise.
- Support the development and assessment of library collections and resources for assigned subject areas.
- Collaborate with colleagues across FSU Libraries and engage with emerging approaches and technologies, including AI, that support teaching, learning, and research.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program (or international equivalent) or expected completion of the degree prior to beginning employment.
- Teaching or instructional experience and an interest in supporting student learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an interest in building collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues.
- Interest in education, health, human or social sciences and enthusiasm for developing subject expertise in these areas.
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, including AI, and their applications to teaching, learning, research, or libraries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with education, health and human sciences, and/or social science research resources, including databases and systematic or evidence synthesis review methods.
- Exposure to or interest in collection development in an academic or research library setting.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and tools used to support teaching and learning in online and in-person environments.
