Healthcare Training Assistant - PT

Primary Function:

The Healthcare Training Assistant will supervise and evaluate students as they practice clinical skills in a mock patient care room, ensuring the students gain mastery in skill competency, clinical reasoning, and professional practice. All Goodwill Instructors and Trainers are responsible for creating a supportive, empowering learning environment for adult learners and delivering quality content instruction. Hours may vary and are based upon the needs of the organization.

Essential Functions:
  • Meets with students onsite to practice clinical skills, provide suggestions for improvement, and review progress.
  • Works in collaboration with the Healthcare Instructor to provide appropriate clinical skills training to ensure students can pass the Prometric CNA exam.
  • Plays a recording of the CNA Lecture and fields questions during presentation if Healthcare Instructor is unavailable.
  • Maintains OSHA, HIPAA and other safety and privacy requirements in all settings.
  • Follows program requirements for the CNA program as laid out by the Healthcare Instructor.
  • Maintains confidential, accurate, and comprehensive attendance records and case notes regarding each student's progress and skills assessments in CRM.
  • Follow clinical guidelines.
  • Ensures students treat "coworkers" and "residents" with the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individual's needs and rights (fellow students act as coworkers and residents).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Excellent time management skills
Must be a self-starter and be able to multitask
Excellent oral and written communications skills

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
1-year of experience in medical field

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Typical Work Environment:

Primary duties are performed in an office environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
