Paraprofessional assists certificated teachers by reinforcing lesson plans, supervising students, and managing classrooms. They provide one-on-one or small-group academic support and help maintain a positive learning environment.
-Support the teacher during whole group sessions by actively engaging students, facilitating discussions, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
-Lead small group activities under the guidance of the lead teacher, focusing on specific learning objectives and adapting instruction to accommodate learning styles and abilities.
-Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance or accommodations to participate fully in classroom activities.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of student progress data, including observations, assessments, and behavioral tracking.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to maintain accurate records and monitor student growth over time.
- Help students navigate transitions between activities, classrooms, and routines, offering support and guidance to minimize disruptions and promote a smooth transition process.
- Implement strategies to support students with transitions, including visual schedules, verbal prompts, and positive reinforcement techniques.
