- Collaborate with the lead PK teacher to implement lesson plans and activities designed to meet the educational and developmental needs of all students.
- Support the teacher during whole group sessions by actively engaging students, facilitating discussions, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Lead small group activities under the guidance of the lead teacher, focusing on specific learning objectives and adapting instruction to accommodate learning styles and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance or accommodations to participate fully in classroom activities.
- Assist children with varying exceptionalities in developing and maintaining independence in daily activities, including toileting, dressing, and self-care tasks.
- Provide personalized support and guidance based on individual student needs to promote autonomy and confidence.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of student progress data, including observations, assessments, and behavioral tracking.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to maintain accurate records and monitor student growth over time.
- Help students navigate transitions between activities, classrooms, and routines, offering support and guidance to minimize disruptions and promote a smooth transition process.
- Implement strategies to support students with transitions, including visual schedules, verbal prompts, and positive reinforcement techniques.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices, particularly related to supporting children with exceptionalities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teachers, staff, students, and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and respond effectively to unexpected situations.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities as required.
- Certification or training in CPR, first aid, and other relevant health and safety protocols preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants with childcare experience, especially those who have worked with children with exceptionalities or in early childhood education programs.
