Assistive Technology: Prompting and assisting students with speech-to-text programs, screen readers, or communication devices.
Data Collection: Observing and documenting student progress on specific IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
Behavioral & Social Support Implementing BIPs: Following a student?s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) to reinforce positive behaviors and teach coping mechanisms.
De-escalation: Intervening in potential conflicts, providing crisis support, and offering a safe space to regulate emotions.
Peer Interaction: Nudging students to appropriately engage, share, and build friendships with their peers.
Physical & Personal Care Mobility Assistance: Helping non-ambulatory students, pushing wheelchairs, or assisting with walkers.
Daily Living Skills: Assisting students with feeding, bath rooming, diapering, or grooming in a way that promotes dignity.
Medical Needs: Monitoring seizures, dispensing medication (if certified), or carrying out plans directed by the school nurse.
Administrative & Classroom Setup Clerical Duties: Grading papers, making copies, taking attendance, and keeping confidential records.
Room Organization: Prepping the learning environment, organizing sensory tools, and cleaning up work areas.
Supervision: Monitoring students during non-academic times such as recess, lunch, assemblies, or while transitioning to buses.
