We are seeking an experienced Facility Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of an ICF/ID residential program serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring exceptional client care, effective staff management, regulatory compliance, facility safety, and sound operational and financial performance.

The ideal candidate has experience in the developmental disability sector and a proven ability to build relationships with skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and other healthcare partners.

What You'll Do
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of daily facility operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and homelike environment for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with ICF/ID requirements and applicable state and federal regulations, including maintaining facility certification and supporting Medicaid and AHCA reviews.
  • Promote high-quality, person-centered services and ensure continuous Active Treatment and appropriate client-to-staff ratios.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop direct reports while establishing clear performance expectations and addressing performance concerns as needed.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and collaboration across departments.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget, monitor expenses, and use organizational resources effectively.
  • Oversee consultants, vendors, contracts, facility maintenance, vehicles, grounds, and other operational resources.
  • Lead risk management and life-safety activities and ensure required documentation and corrective actions are completed.
  • Monitor for and appropriately respond to concerns involving client abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with reporting requirements and organizational policy.
  • Maintain and annually update the facility's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and oversee emergency preparedness, including hurricane response and evacuation when necessary.
  • Participate in management meetings, required training, and an on-call rotation to provide 24-hour administrative coverage.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus at least 2 years of verifiable experience working directly with individuals receiving services or related experience; OR
  • High school diploma plus at least 5 years of related experience working directly with individuals receiving services.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly desired.
  • At least 1 year of QIDP experience preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to operate 10-12 passenger vans and wheelchair-accessible buses.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and regulatory-compliance skills.
  • Ability to respond to facility needs during emergencies and severe weather events.
