Sales Representative
Under general supervision of the Manager of Physician Relations and Community Engagement, serves as a conduit between physicians/physician practices and Tampa General Hospital leadership in addressing operational issues related to access, timeliness of service or quality of care. Will provide internal support in the development of department specific sales plans, set goals to establish brand loyalty and to increase utilization, referrals, and admissions, communicate the concerns of external providers to hospital and specialty group, management and alert his/her employer of potential strategic opportunities, and assist in the identification and development of volume growth plans as well as the implementing of identified initiatives. Will be responsible for educating community physicians, networks and hospitals about the services offered at Tampa General Hospital's ambulatory sites, meeting community physicians in practice settings, seminars and business meetings, compiling information on the referral base, new markets, competitive plans, and provider profiles collecting data to systematically identify trends or problems experienced by referring physicians, and responding to concerns or specific interests of referring providers and communicate their feedback to the specialists or administrators. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides education to physicians and their staff members, hospital CME coordinators, health educators and community relations staff about the services provided by TGH.
  • This job requires extensive time out of the office as the Physician Liaison is expected to call on five physician offices per day.
  • Attends meetings for orientation and problem solving activities.
  • Able to made recommendations to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Helps maximize utilization of hospital facilities.
  • Develops, coordinate and implement 8-10 continuing medical educational programs per month that results in improved relations and increased referrals to TGH.
  • Provides written reports to administration on a monthly basis and as needed.
  • Assists in recruiting physicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or other related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Physician Relations or Physician targeted medical sales.
  • Previous health care oncology sales, medical device sales and/or pharmaceutical sales preferred.
