Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the overall management of administrative, financial, program and staffing activities for the FSUMED Tallahassee Regional Campus.
  • This role provides comprehensive administrative and operational leadership for the Tallahassee Regional Campus, Thomasville Campus, and Marianna Rural Program. Responsibilities include overseeing financial management, budgeting, payroll, staffing, compliance, reporting, and strategic planning while ensuring alignment with College of Medicine and university policies. The position serves as a key liaison with university departments, government agencies, teaching partners, and community organizations, while also supporting program development, faculty recruitment, and fundraising initiatives.
  • The position also manages regional campus operations, including supervision and training of staff, facility maintenance, vendor coordination, and community outreach. Academic support duties include coordinating faculty appointments, clinical and longitudinal teaching programs, CME and faculty reporting, and statewide Community Medicine activities. Additionally, the role oversees event planning and logistics for faculty development sessions, graduation events, appreciation dinners, and operational purchasing for the regional campus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to an administrative service; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: Post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one prior to hire.

  • As a community-based medical school, the Florida State University College of Medicine provides third- and fourth-year clinical training at regional medical school campuses around the state through affiliations with local physicians, ambulatory care facilities, and hospitals.
  • At the Regional Medical School Campus - Tallahassee, clerkship directors from the Tallahassee area oversee student rotations in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, geriatrics, psychiatry, and emergency medicine, with additional community physicians serving as faculty across a variety of clinical specialties.
  • The Tallahassee Regional Campus supports the College of Medicine's mission by delivering high-quality community-based medical education through strong partnerships with healthcare providers, hospitals, and faculty physicians throughout the region. The campus provides administrative, academic, and operational support for clinical training programs, faculty development, student affairs, and community outreach initiatives. It also coordinates regional academic programs, clinical placements, faculty recruitment, and special events while fostering collaboration between the university, healthcare organizations, and the local community to enhance medical education and patient care in North Florida and the surrounding rural areas.
