ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, to include C-Arm equipment

• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of the specified body area

• Operate equipment at the computer console for storage, transfer, playback data, generating images, and other means

• Assure patient safety and satisfaction

• Position patient on examining table

• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation and confidence

• Examine radiology film for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.

GENERAL COMPENTENCIES DESIRED

• Advanced knowledge of anatomy, medical terms, and radiology equipment.

• Must be a true team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. PC skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires full range of motion and manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation of equipment and assisting patients with transfer and positioning. Requires normal visual acuity for operation of equipment and review of films. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

CREDENTIALS DESIRED

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education, successful completion of an accredited radiology program, valid Florida license as a Radiology Technologist, and registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT).

Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Applicants must have advanced knowledge of anatomy, medical terms, and radiology equipment. Position requires successful completion of an accredited radiology program, valid Florida license as a Radiology Technologist, and registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT).
