Responsibilities / Expectations
Education/Experience Requirements
- Train, teach and develop delivery drivers to perform their job at the highest level.
- Lead and manage 7 to 8 direct reports within area of responsibility.
- Must fill in on any delivery route when scheduled or if needed.
- Oversee the completion of DOT inspections on all assigned team's vehicles.
- Help create monthly ZDM / Senior Relief Meeting agenda and submit to Delivery Sales Manager.
- Schedule monthly ZDM / Senior Relief meeting with Delivery Sales Manager by 2nd week of each month.
- Conduct regular monthly team meetings.
- Has the same responsibilities / expectations as the Delivery Driver and Senior Relief positions for all operational efficiencies.
- Has the ability to influence the hiring and firing of employees, including promotions and assignments.
- Coach and council direct reports on opportunities to improve.
- Can discipline direct reports for performance-based issues or violations of company policies.
- Help provide the right tools for their teams to complete their job responsibilities.
- Review monthly Delivery Retail Audits on all your assigned routes. Review results with each direct report. If training a new driver, plan with Delivery Manager to have route audits reviewed.
- Attend all necessary Sales and delivery related meetings (unless excused.)
- Provide career path for delivery employees.
- Poses good people skills with multiple personalities. Need to have skills to handle disciplinary (performance) issues.
- Must be flexible on hours. (weekends at times)
- Must be a good coach along with a good trainer. Be open for cross training opportunities.
- Must be good with time management skills.
- Promote Team culture and Core Values. Must be a team player. Must maintain a good attitude.
- Must be a self starter and self motivated.
- Reinforce all Cone policies and procedures.
- Must have effective communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 25-160lbs.
- Participate in weekend pull-up activities as scheduled; find a replacement if you cannot attend your assigned day.
- Ability to take on other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a safe driving record. Report any driving related issues to HR immediately.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Delivery experience - On Premise, Off Premise needed. (Package truck and Bulk)
- Must be familiar with entire Cone territory layout.
- Practices safe lifting techniques.
- Understand operational efficiencies for Delivery, Sales and Merchandising.
- Understand routing logistics and how it impacts both Delivery, Sales ales and Merchandising.
- Ability to multitask.
- Merchandising experience mandatory.
- Must have good DOT driving record / skills. No distracted driving.
- Must have a valid class A CDL-A and DOT card.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- High School Diploma/GED
